Sharing a robust frame with the SD38-2 and SD45-2, the SD40-2 features an extended design to accommodate the innovative HT-C trucks, which are 1.5 feet longer than the Flexicoil trucks found on the SD40. This extension, along with similarly sized long hoods, gives the SD40-2 its signature "porches" at either endperfect for spotting enthusiasts! You can easily identify it by its three roof-mounted radiator fans and a distinctive single large exhaust stack.
